Halifax Rainmen (9W-3L) vs. Quebec Kebs (1W-10L) Game Preview

Halifax Rainmen (9W-3L) vs. Quebec Kebs (1W-10L)
Location: Pavillon de la Jeunesse, Quebec, 7:30 PM EST (8:30 PM AST)
Season Series: 2-0 Rainmen

After a tough overtime loss on the road to the Vermont Frost Heaves, the Rainmen look to get back on track against the Quebec Kebs on Friday night.  The Kebs who have lost ten straight, have struggled against the Rainmen (along with every other team in the PBL this season), and have lost both regular season matchups.  Halifax, who are the worst free throw shooting team in the league, put on another poor free throw shooting performance against Vermont on Sunday, missing 20 free throws that ultimately cost the Rainmen the road win.

In an effort to beef up at the point guard position (and help with the free throw shooting situation), the Rainmen have added former Manchester Millrat, Eric Gilchrese and the 6'0" guard will fill in the backup point guard vacancy after the departure of Adris DeLeon.  Eric Gilchrese has averaged 18.2 ppg, 2.9 rpg, and 4.1 assists for Manchester this season.  Newly acquired guard, Taliek Brown, will move to the practice roster with Devon Norris and Lonell Shuler-Jones.

The Quebec Kebs recently lost to the PBL league leaders, the Puerto Rico Capitanes, 91-70 last Thursday and have struggled all season long, holding the worst record in the league.  Halifax is coming off their first loss in five games and will look to get things together against the New Jersey Nets of the PBL, the Quebec Kebs.

Keep an eye on...

  • Quebec leading scorer: Samuel Audet-Sow 18.0 ppg

  • Quebec leading rebounder:  Jamaal Wise 9.3 rpg
